Event Details

Are science and religion at war with one another?  Does science make religious faith unnecessary?  Oxford mathematician John Lennox probes the relation between science and faith, and argues that even modern science begins with “faith-like” presuppositions about the fundamental order of the universe.

John Lennox is Professor of Mathematics in the University of Oxford, Fellow in Mathematics and the Philosophy of Science, and Pastoral Advisor at Green Templeton College, Oxford. He is also an adjunct Lecturer at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford University and at the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics and is a Senior Fellow of the Trinity Forum.  His most recent book is God and Stephen Hawking: Whose Design Is It Anyway?  He has lectured extensively in North America, Eastern and Western Europe on mathematics, the philosophy of science and the intellectual defense of Christianity.

This is event is open to all and offered free of charge by the Center for Christian Study. Please note that this is a ticketed event. When you register here, a ticket will be set aside for you at the Center for Christian Study for you to pick up anytime before the lecture from Ashley Wooten. We will have a special will call set up at the Study Center the day of the lecture from 11 am - 5 pm. After that, will call will be available at Old Cabell beginning at 7 pm. Tickets not picked up at will call by 8 pm will be released. All tickets are general admission and there is no reserved seating. If you have questions, please call the Study Center, 434.817.1050.
